Billtrust (NASDAQ: BTRS), the American market leader in the automation of accounts receivable administration and integrated payments, has acquired iController, the Ghent-based specialist in accounts receivable management. With the acquisition, iController takes another step on the path of exponential growth.
Ever since its foundation in 2007, iController had a clear goal in mind: to provide the ultimate solution for credit management. Today, the company is active in more than 60 countries and thousands of users use iController software, “turning almost cash into cash”.
“This is the next step in our growth story. Joining the Billtrust family will allow us to scale our business more rapidly and deploy more resources to serve our growing customer base even better,” said Peter Janssens, founder and CEO of iController. “Our shared values and ambitions make Billtrust the ideal partner for this.”
The iController team will continue to operate from its offices in Ghent (headquarters), Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt, from where it will strengthen and continue to expand Billtrust’s strategic presence in Europe. Peter Janssens will remain on board as managing director of iController.
“The acquisition of iController is in line with our growth plan of strategic global expansion. We want to broaden our customer base in a targeted manner and extend the value we provide to our current customers,” said Flint Lane, Billtrust Founder & CEO.
Steve Pinado, Chair of Billtrust, said: “We are delighted to welcome Peter and the entire iController team to Billtrust. With 566 European customers, iController is a powerful resource for professionals working in credit and collections, and a strong strategic fit for Billtrust. With this acquisition, we aim to expand our physical presence in the European market while enhancing our global credit and collections capabilities.”
